Yeah, development has been rough. But I’m still cautiously optimistic. They expect to release early access later this year, so we’ll see.

And don’t forget about Wayward Realms, the indie spiritual successor to Daggerfall. If they can successfully pull off their ambitious vision, it could be one of the greatest RPGs of all time.
Unfortunately, there’s no ethical consumption under capitalism. And it becomes even more difficult after we are stuck with a few mega monopolies that own everything. No matter where you buy from, your money is supporting the exploitation of workers.
This isn’t always an option, unfortunately. Some books for example are only available on Amazon. When I go to the author’s website, they just link to Amazon.

1·11 days agoOh I definitely noticed. That’s a large part of why I hate ads. They’re unbearably obnoxious and obtuse.
Texan here. Winter used to be a nice break from our hot, humid, miserable summers. Now some years I don’t even need to wear a jacket. It’s just hot all year round now. I hate it.
Gotta sneak a bit of that delicious finger dust.
“Aggressive algae”? Really?
This excuse for worker exploitation has always baffled me. 1. The contract was signed under duress: “Take this shitty job or continue to be unemployed.” Consent made under duress is not consent. 2. It was agreed to under an extreme power asymmetry: If you refuse the job, your family will have to go hungry, but the company will easily find some other desperate soul to fill the position. 3. I haven’t even begun to touch on all the class, racial, ethnic, and gender discrimination that workers face.
There’s nothing even close to meaningful or fair negotiation under such conditions.
I don’t know who this Fahhh person is. Are we sure they aren’t just making a dumb joke? Because it’s giving me those vibes.
Dark mage/black magic for me. It’s just aesthetically right up my alley. Second choice would be rogue/assassin.

Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•It's insane how beautiful life can beEnglish
15·2 months agoThat’s the thing. It could be ANY city in the US. Car-dependent infrastructure kills local culture. It makes everywhere look like the same, ugly concrete jungle.
Charity is only necessary because corporations like McDonald’s exploit the working class. They pay us wages that are barely (or not) sufficient to keep us alive, then pocket the rest. All the billions the corporation makes is billions created by and stolen from the working class. Under a more equitable system based on mutual aid and in which the workers control the means of production, and own the fruits of their labor, charity as we know it would become unnecessary.

This is also true.
