[WhatsApp] Video message problem with iphones

I am using a pixel 4a with calyxos. Some time between July and August something must have happened that WhatsApp (installed via aurora, did all the updates) video messages I send only appear like a still frame with sound for iPhone users. Happens with all the people I sent videos to who have iphones. ios 17 and 18, doesn’t matter. So I assume it must be something on my side, although there is no problem for people receiving my videos who have android devices.

Does anybody have an idea what might have happened here? Searching Google drives me nuts, just full of irrelevant results, can’t find anybody having the same problem.

Does it happen with any other apps? If not, it might be a problem with the different WhatsApp app versions.
