Funny how I use TB on desktop as long as it exists and always wanted a android version and I even knew that is was in development and still this is the first time I heard that it was released. A little cross promotion wouldn’t hurt.
I’ve been using it, it’s basically still K9 mail with minor changes. It doesn’t really have the features you see in the desktop client.
They might promote it more when it’s got the features you’d expect from a mobile client, like proper search with a local index.
Burnout is a truly horrible thing! I hope he rests, recovers, and finds his passion again.
I’ve used K9 for over a decade, until at some point work required me to have an exchange account. At that time I switched to Nine, since outlook is hot garbage.
Are there alternatives to Nine? I’ve used that for several years for my personal email because of exchange, but it has had issues the last couple of years. Not open source as far as I know.
Unless you run your own davmail server and connected to that instead, probably not.
I’m not aware of any alternatives, but then again I didn’t experience any problems so never bothered to look either.
Thunderbird… now that’s a name I’ve not heard in a loooong time
It’s a pretty popular desktop client, and the migration of K9 into Tbird for Android was a good thing.
Now is the time to switch to Librewolf, I just wish there was a Librebird.
