Currently playing through the game so that was unexpected. Spoilerfree The good:
- (Really good) Faster loading times
- More gfx options
- Free outfits from founder edition
- More missions apparently (still going through the base game so idk)
The bad:
- Lip sync is still broken in engine cinematic
The ugly:
- You now have to sign EULA
- Menu ad for Alan Wake 2 and DLCs
I get it, it’s 2025 but 2 days ago I was praising the game to a friend about how player friendly the game was and how it felt like a game and not an app.
Dude the ads on menu shit is horrific. I loaded up DOOM 2016 the other day and literally the menu, in the fucking game, is a selector between the game I installed and a selector for DOOM Dark Ages that I don’t own. What the fuck. This is why I hate games being always online even if strictly multiplayer. That game is damn near a decade old and theyre shoving updates to it just in hopes of sales. /rant
Take control!!
I’ll have too prepare for another playthrough at some point. I finished my first a few months ago and was really wanting more
GOG gets this update when?
I started this a while back, and while I enjoyed it, I never went back to it, looks like being patient paid off.
I really couldn’t enjoy this game, it for some reason made me nauseous and tired.
Wanted to enjoy it, unfortunately couldn’t.
That’s just an effect of exposure to The Hiss.
Same here, I really did enjoy it for a bit, but the grind began to feel like work. Didn’t help that my Xbox one would crash per consistently.
Time for another playthrough I guess
Steam owners are also receiving this update?
Did they ever fix the inability to save the game?
Issues like that are usually related to windows security settings which block applications from modifying the contents of user specific folders.
If a game likes to write save files to those locations and you have enabled ransomware protection, you’ll need to allow an exception for it:
Go to Windows Security -> Protection History -> Protected folder access blocked (look for the game’s executable in this list) -> Actions -> Allow on Device
Thanks for the info! I’ll try reinstalling the game in the next few days and see if it works…
No problem. Unfortunately the prompt for an application being denied access usually only shows up when the game first creates a save point. So you might have to get just far enough until the game saves to trigger it.
