Palestinian group rejected an Israeli offer to stop fighting for one week in exchange for dozens of hostages, saying it wouldn’t discuss releasing their Israeli captives until a cease-fire goes into effect first.

People are dying every minute. 90-80% of the people dying are civilians by the IDFs own metrics.

The hostages are not being executed.

It’s not unreasonable to ask two groups to stop killing each other before negotiating.

The IDFs position is we are going to keep killing until you do what we want, then we are going to kill you some more… Fair enough, that’s what militaries do, but don’t act so surprised the counter party doesnt want to talk

So you think they will release the hostages but won’t till after the ceasefire? Why wouldn’t they agree then? I can’t understand your point. If they had any intention of actually releasing some wouldn’t that be acceptable?

Israel has about 7000 hostages (inlcuding kids, poets, grandmothers etc) and also re-imprisoned some of those released under the last deal. Most of those still held by Hamas are actually military so prisoners of war.

I don’t know if they will or won’t.

I just know you can’t claim the other side is being disingenuous in negotiations while you’re killing them one-sidedly
