The one time I got jackfruit from an Asian market years ago, I recall it tasting great. Then you look at the jackfruit in brine at trader Joe’s. It tastes as flavorless as water, as the gum you’ve been chewing for hours on end. It’s terrible on its own but works great for pulled “pork”.
