I like that quote that says “Something that we can learn from history books is that people can’t learn from history books”.

What we’re seeing is people who do learn from history books being persecuted by those who don’t because the latter are against knowledge, they love the ignorance (as in, ignoring the reality around them; in their minds, “don’t see it = it doesn’t exist”).

That’s why we’re “seeing the future repeating the past” (to quote a verse from Cazuza’s “O tempo não pára” song).

It’s going to be long and arduous. The US has such massive reach and influence that it’s going to take a long time before it topples. After that, we will probably be stuck in some Peter Thiel wet dream where he tells us Skynet was actually the protagonist and the Nazis had some good ideas.

I was like half paying attention during our WW2 history lessons and the parallels between the USA today and the formation of Nazi Germany is clear as day. Whoever can’t see it was probably fast asleep during each class.

There’s people out there who genuinely only think it’s ok to call something fascism or genocide retrospectively when it’s achieved its goals.

We can’t call it fascism yet because they aren’t literally killing gay people in camps yet.

They won’t believe it because it isn’t an exact parallel replica of Nazi Germany because obviously. Everything is different, were 100 years in the future, it’s a different country.

It’s illegal to extrapolate what’s going on and draw obvious parallels unless literally the exact same thing happens the same way.

Please, if you believe otherwise tell me I’m wrong
