How can you do that to your loving pet? The pet doesn’t deserve to be out there alongside you, in the cold, struggling and suffering over some of the poor decisions you’ve made in your life. They didn’t ask for this and they don’t deserve this. Give them up to adoption.

(Blocking uncivil responses. I know this magazine possesses some very argumentative people who argue just to hear themselves argue)

Wow, this is indeed an unpopular opinion and for a reason. Not only are you blaming the person for being on the street you are saying they should suffer more. Maybe if your parents gave you up for adoption you could have been raised with more empathy.

You can’t outright assume that everyone on the streets, are there because of what is happening in the world and the country. People make poor decisions nearly all of the time and they don’t account for the repercussions of what that poor decision can come from the choice made.

You’re just believing into this narrative that every single body in the in the US, for example, are there because the system fucked them over and that everyone is a victim. That’s not how I see it, not from the videos I’ve watched, the many stories I’ve read and such where people are homeless because of their poor decisions and poorer foresight.

Maybe if your parents taught you a little thing called reality, you’d understand better. But it is evident that you really don’t. So keep feeling justified in your little cutesy lecture and your proud downvoting for all I care.

Them: you can’t just assume X.
        You: you can’t assume ¬X.

        They didn’t assert ¬X. You’re arguing with a strawman.

not from the videos I’ve watched, the many stories I’ve read

And how many of those didn’t have a certain narrative they were trying to push? Do you have any idea how ignorant you sound when your source for your opinion on millions of people in the worst of circumstances is “I saw some videos and read some stories”.

Let me ask you, have you actually talked with any of these fellow human beings out on the street? Have you spent even a second interacting with them besides shooting them a scowl as you pass by? Or were you worried they might get their “poor” on you, and so you avoided them like they were diseased?

Your world view is shit, little boy. Your parents have raised you in ignorance and have let their own lack of empathy spread into you and fester. Maybe keep your opinions to yourself about people who are struggling when you don’t even know the meaning of the word.
