So a few years ago I worked as a stripper for like a year and a half to pay for some things. Looking back I really regret doing it. I’m always about people finding out about it in the future and it effecting my employability. So far nobody except a few friends know about and I hope to keep it that way but I’m worried that in the future it could come back to bite me.

Is there anyway I can keep this thing permanently hidden and if not then what should I do in the future if someone finds out? Like, how badly would it effect my image and is there anything I can do about it? What do I say to people of they find out?

Hi, current adult entertainer here to try to reassure you.

If you don’t aspire to work as/in any of the following:

    • teacher
    • childcare
    • politician
    • lawyer
    • law enforcement
    • employee of a religious institution

then career-wise, you’re golden. With the rise of easy AI deepfakes that effectively neuter any “damming photographic evidence,” my guess is those categories are going to start dwindling, even.

If someone at your workplace tries to “out” you, more likely their ass is getting sacked for harassment than you getting any direct repercussions (though obviously it could be socially damaging and that’s still not ideal).

Social reputation is another animal and largely depends on your family and friend group dynamics. I’m lucky enough to have a sex-positive immediate family and friends, and after years of trying to hide how I was affording college and NYC rent, I just got sick of trying to maintain elaborate lies. So mom knows I’m a dominatrix now, lol. But there are plenty of family members and several friends I either still actively hide that info from, or at least don’t go out of my way to offer it.

You and I have one lucky thing in common which is that as live performers, “outing” us is a double edged sword that also damages the reputation of the accuser. “If you’re claiming I was an adult entertainer, then you would have to have been a patron of adult entertainment to witness it.” Mutually assured destruction, in a way.

Keep on living your life as discreetly about your past as you feel comfortable, and it’s very unlikely anyone will be able to, let alone want to, damage your reputation. If some fucking scumbag decides to go there, see if a lawyer can help you sue the fuck out of them for invasion of privacy and defamation (they’ll probably drop the accusations because people like that are little bitches who fold when anyone stands up to them).

Feel free to DM me anything else you might wanna discuss. Hope this helps! <3

There’s not a lot of difference now that I think of it.

. Both will do anything for money . Both require performing on a stage . Both pretend to like people

well now I think I’ll be able to shrug it off if anyone tries to insult me for my profession, as long as they don’t remind me what I have in common with a politician 😂💀

The only difference is that politicians can keep they’re job until they’re 90.
