But yeah, one can feel the limitations of the PS4. Whoever wants to buy a PS5 will have bought one by now, more so considering it’s really not an affordable buy in any way. At this time, it might be the fomo addiction which would push someone into buying a new console that pretty much tethers you to its subscription models.

My ps4 died and so I upgraded to ps4 emulator.
I had a period of unemployment last year during which I had to sell my PS5 to pay my power bill. I’m working again, but it’ll be years before I can afford another video game console. I hope my launch-era PS4 keeps hanging in there, I’m worried for its hard drive.
Hard drive in PS4 is user-replaceable so at least there’s that. Putting even the cheapest SATA SSD decreases load times considerably too which should help in stretching its lifespan a bit.
I highly recommend avoiding paying for things you can get for free.
The people you’re enriching are having no problem paying their utility bills, and all of them live a higher quality of life than you.
I don’t think it’s especially egregious for a company to advertise it’s new hardware on it’s platform. I do think that the form of system messages is unfortunate though.
I have played both and it doesn’t feel like much of an upgrade. Especially, for the price. Hard pass until it’s severely discounted.
