I used to own a comic shop, since I stopped I have been pretty OOTL regarding what is out there. But there are a few characters I like to keep up with. I check out the weekly lists here, but that does not always paint a complete picture, plus that is new stuff would like to check up on what I have missed since 2019.
The Complete Marvel Reading Order has a pretty good spot for that

The marvel one looks great for my mutant addiction. Still trying to figure out the other.
Metron does require you to make an account before you can use it, but then there should be a “characters” tab you can use to search by. I can try to help if there’s something specific you’re running into

That looks promising! Sadly, it appears to list by number of appearances rather than chronological order. Not a deal breaker, but not ideal either. As you said, a good place to start.
