For the same reason the Blahaj is a trans mascot. Trans people said so. No real reason, it just happened enough it became a meme and then people took it in all seriousness.
Blahaj has the same color scheme as the trans flag and is cute.
Never played it so I can’t answer the question but here’s an article I found when I looked it up that clarified it a bit for me.

The game itself is not “trans” but it correlates with the dominant age group of people who grew up with it and later on had changed their gender. And because it’s more niche than a typical AAA game which covers a bigger fanbase then some anon made that connection and others started picking this up. That’s just the way 4chan operates as it came from there. I wouldn’t waste too much thought on it
