as an android user, will i still get affected even if i use an older version of google play services?

    You’ll probably have to follow the opt-out flow as outlined in the link you posted. Currently installed apps without a Google-registered signature I guess will be grandfathered in, with updates requiring using the opt-out flow. It will also be possible to get around the measures using adb on a computer, if you’re in a rush.

    Not great for sure, but not what I would call world-ending

    Afaik there is no specifics on the implementation, but to me the most logical way for Google to inplement it, would be to update the setting at the OS level for installing 3rd party applications.

    Google can then require any phone manufacturer that wants access to the Google Play Store and Google Play Services (which is all of them) to also push that update.

    If they implement it like that, there would be no way around it other than simply not updating your Android

      i use a 7 year old phone and it doesnt receive any new update since 2020, is it a good thing?
