I remember having to “park” the hard drive before shutting down. I also remember the excitement when our school got PC’s with a 386 chip and an orange monochrome monitor when everyone else was stuck with green.

I don’t remember what we had in elementary school, but I remember the monitor had a “color” button. It worked if the program you were running was setup for it. I remember there were a few things like “Odell Lake” and “Number Munchers” - but if you turned the color button on when using the word processor, it would turn all of your text into unicorn vomit rainbow patterns. It was awesome.

In primary school we had mostly Atari 800’s with that turtle drawing game (?), but we also had some Apple 2 E’s and Macintosh 2’s.
