In case anyone does not know: when a brand name becomes the generic term for a product or action, courts and trademark offices may determine the mark has become “genericized.” If that happens the owner may lose exclusive rights and the mark can enter the public domain.
See Zipper, Heroin, Escalator, Yo-Yo, etc.
So if you are anti-capitalist, you should photoshop with Gimp, google with duckduckgo and so on.

counterpoint, language evolves over time and if the majority of people decide that these are proper words then so be it
This is literally about whether the word can be trademarked, not about whether it’s a real word or not. You should not speak on language until you have a basic grasp on how to even read one.
I thought it was about how Adobe should fuck off
Adobe rep, is that you?
Adobe®️ Photoshop®️ is shit.
The image was Adobe® photoshopped
I’ll start caring about Adobe’s trademarks when they stop being assholes with subscription termination fees, and also stop using subscriptions altogether. But I’ll still use GIMP because I also hate Microsoft and Photoshop doesn’t run on Linux anyway.
Pretty much industry standard.
