God of War Ragnarök has a ‘mixed’ user review rating on Steam following its PC launch, with most of the complaints revolving around Sony’s controversial PlayStation Network Account requirement.
So I bought it knowing I had to make an account. I knew I was caving to a shitty requirement. Before you even get to a main menu the game unceremoniously launches your browser while sitting at a black screen. On your browser you are expected to sign into your Playstation® Account. I tried. I tried and tried. An error kept popping up stating “can’t connect to server.”
In that moment I decided on a refund. You want me to sign into an account for a single player game? Fine. I caved and I did, but their servers weren’t ready for a re-launch of a huge game to service a restriction Sony placed on themselves.
I’ll buy it again when there is a mod to remove the account requirement.

That mod exists, it’s called piracy.
