Who reads their money?
It looks like you are trying to adjust the user settings. Would you like to RTFM?
They look at you like that because they know, right now, you are young and feel invincible. And you practically are.
But they know that you won’t be forever. And they know that you are missing an opportunity to prepare for the second half of your life because you are living to the fullest now.
And they know that it’s your choice to make.

11·8 days agoSpanking is not about discipline. It’s about asserting authority. The intended message is “I’m in charge and I can and will hurt you if you don’t recognize and obey my authority.”

You are going to get downvoted to hell on this platform, but you aren’t wrong. You aren’t alone though. There are at least two of us that can think rationally about this.
The anti-California age law reaction in tech-bro internet circles is really irrational.

Linux@lemmy.ml•The Engineer Who Tried to Put Age Verification Into Linux
35·9 days agoWell, very possibly.
That’s actually a funny consequence I hadn’t thought of. A media company could go to a pirating site and then file a police report claiming neglect of child protections. That could really start to spiral quick…

Linux@lemmy.ml•GrapheneOS Foundation Never To Require ID or Other PII To Use GrapheneOS
5·10 days agoPixel isn’t sold with GraphineOS. You have to install it yourself.
I think it’s more likely that soon China will start heavily pushing out a forked version of Linux on cheap fully home-built PCs. Then it’s basically game over for American software companies.
I think it’s going to be higher than that. I think a lot of counties will start rapidly migrating away from American software companies, and the only alternative is Linux. China will soon really start pushing out their own fully home-grown cheap PCs to the world with some flavor of Linux as the OS. American software companies won’t be able to compete.
Globally, I bet the desktop marketshare for various flavors of Linux is pushing 90% by 2040.

Linux@lemmy.ml•GrapheneOS Foundation Never To Require ID or Other PII To Use GrapheneOS
141·10 days agoAre there any actual “GraphineOS” devices currently for sale anywhere?
(I know Motorola has some plans to roll out GraphineOS phones in the future, but this would probably complicate those plans if GraphineOS really prohibits Motorola from complying with laws.)
I think it’s going to start skyrocketing in global desktop use. Maybe not in the US, but globally lots of other countries have good reason to migrate away from US based software companies

12·11 days agoI personally prefer the Heath Ledger Joker as the best Joker.
He has no origin and he has no motive. He’s just a crazy MF’er that is intent on causing as much chaos as possible for his own amusement.
(Granted I did see a fan theory a few years ago that argued that there is evidence that he was an integral member of the League of Shadows, even possibly their lead explosives engineer. He either got tired of waiting for them to strike or got kicked out for being to crazy for them. I liked that theory too.)

First of all, no they don’t. There is a very small minority of MAGAs that are real preppers. (I actually have some respect for those people.)
The rest are just soulless suburban pawns that hide their racism in faux-Christianity or faux-libertarianism. The cat majority of them are up to their eyes in debt.
