We have been trying to get my son’s return for 3 months now. First they needed to verify his ID, now they are still… I don’t know what.

15·4 hours agoSame as I do now.
CDs.
You can rip CDs to digital easily. You can get them cheap at resale shops and garage sales.
I buy and listen to vinyls, but also I moatly only buy them for my top 5 artists, partly for display. I do buy some if Infind them cheap or they are special, but I don’t really collect vinyls. They are impractical.
I really like her stuff, Pretending is that song, You’re Not Special is good, Honestly most of the album Woman on the Internet is good.
A fun lyric from a song I like called Pretending by Orla Gartland.
“All the people over there They don’t seem to have a care I’m so fucking self aware, it’s exhausting.”

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What kind of things do you think movies are most dishonest about?English

Bonking people over the head to knock them out.
If you manage to hit them hard enough to actually put them out like that, they are likely bleeding internally and going to die without immidiate hospital care. Maybe even die anyway.

12·3 days agoI sat on the jury for a murder trial last year (maybe 2). It was impressive how inept both the defence and prosecution seemed and how flat out sloppy it all felt.
Some filks apparently don’t know you can buy a 20lb bag of ice for like, a dollar, outside of every gas station.
What, you Europers just drink it from the ground? Where the dirt is? Like savages?

6·3 days agoI mean, Becoming a DIK is kind of a complete game though. Steam has some stuff that feels like someone stuck stickman art in a GODOT tutorial and called it good.

This isn’t a know against small devs, but I do get it a bit becsuse there is a LOT of questionable nonsense on the indie dev circuit. Like, I have played a lot of them too. But Steam is kind of bad with letting too much garbage in and frankly, I stopped using Steam as much over the years for it.

They don’t care about users. Users are the product they sell to the real customers (shareholders)

Renewable Energy Received Record Subsidies in 2024
In the United States, new Treasury Department figures show that subsidies for wind and solar dwarf all other energy-related provisions in the tax code, costing $31.4 billion in 2024,
Hmmmm, interesting…
Also, in the broader sense, thats the point of the government. So the larger community can collectively support “unprofitable/less profitable” systems for the greater good through Taxes. But then Libertarian and Republican fuckwits keep supporting corrupt as fuck assholes for office.
