Some inflation is a good thing. It keeps money moving, which is absolutely crucial to the system as it is. Wages do need to rise with or outpace it, though.

I really don’t like this attitude. It’s just smugness about medical knowledge, because it’s often paired with a hate for people that come in for things that are easily googlable… Directing people HOW and WHEN to do research would be so much more productive for a working doctor-patient relationship.
Somehow both the most and least scary thing on the list…
That sounds an awful lot like restaurants and jobs…
I really want this to happen but I’m worried the scales in the West will tip in the wrong direction, further toward true and open fascism… We (yes, you reading this) have a personal responsibility to be informed and speak out as best we can. This history is not yet written — we have to write it.
I get your point, but if they’re enjoying themself: Give 'em hell anon. Pump that stuff out. If you’ve got something to say, speak!
Well said. Lawful engagement is the only way if anyone is going to hold that kind of power. American hegemony has proven itself thoroughly hypocritical, time and time again. It’s attack dog in the middle east is holding the leash. Rule of law must reign - but never forget its our collective responsibility to write and uphold just laws for the collective.
Yeah, and as someone lse mentioned: they often have a Libby service that gets you tonnes of free audiobooks and other digital materials.
Procrastination-productivity is a beast.
I mean, you’re not wrong - but it’s a technique used every day for super-resolution microscopy.
There’s some surprisingly sci-fi stuff that’s possible with image deconvolution. Not exactly practical, but it is possible to recover some information from a blurry photo.
That’s exactly why I came to Lemmy: different trash.
I can’t find any of this on Al Jazeera…
Thank you for saying this in a way that it could sorta land… I should know better than to try to articulate a nuanced point in response to the “umm actually” crowd.
It’s tied to the US for very good reason. Israel is effectively a vassal state to the US, and the US has used its veto power at the UNSC dozens and dozens and dozens of times to block resolutions directed at Israel, all while providing it with arms to commit atrocity after atrocity. If you don’t see how the US is deeply enmeshed in this, you are simply misinformed. This situation wouldn’t happen wothout US interference.
What more is a figurehead good for then? A figurehead is the government personifed, and you’re complaining about taking a shot at it using that framing. Are you proposing that Biden is not getting enough flack and all our energies are being wasted on Harris? Because I really don’t think that’s happening here.
You’re technically correct, but so wrong in your critique of this. It’s a political framing that may not be Fact, but it is True - she’s the voice of the government, lamenting a disaster that it created. In much the same way that you present a fact that doesn’t get at the Truth.
You’re missing the point.
She’s literally the Vice President of the USA - one of the faces that represent the government. Not some random powerless person. If it’s not directed at her personally, then who personally should be named and shamed?
Faux-leather isn’t great, depending on how it’s made - but bonded leather is literally garbage glued to fabric.
I don’t think that’s true, unless someone wants to find a better source. But the bible passages listed on Wikipedia are pretty clearly about food.
Explanation?
