A: you’re projecting a completely different meaning onto this dumb joke and B: is it not reasonable to reject dating someone who has fundamentally different values and beliefs about the basic nature of reality than you do?
I have plenty of religious friends. But I’ve also known many religious people who undergo wild swings in behavior based on their perception of what god wants of them. That’s not a good foundation for a partnership. I need my life partner and I to be approaching major decisions from the same ontological perspective.
