Wurdest du a bissl zu oft vom Wickeltisch geschmissen? Hast du beim letzten mal Popeln ein wenig Hirngewebe mitgenommen? Haben deine Eltern die Muttermilchdosen mit dem Klarlackkonzentrat vertauscht?

collect your name, social security number, address, or other personal information.

At least where I live there are laws to collect this info. Is it not regulated in Murica?

We secure your account against SIM swaps…with modern cryptography protocols.

This just dosent make ANY sense. Sim swaps are done via social engeneering.

    proprietary signaling protection

If they wanted to be private, it would be Open source.

Voicemails can hold sensitive information like 2FA codes.

Since when do people send 2fa codes via voicemail? The fuck? Just use signal.

U.S. Army and worked for Palantir.

    Me smell honey

Also, they DO collect your Credit card data. Not they themselves, but Stripe. So Stripe knows every detail about you.

  • Does this function similar to a “Private Space” on newer Android or “Secure Folder” on Samsung?

No. Unlike those, you dont have to unlock the app nd use them, the sandbox is just a normal apk but it dosent allow gservices root access and blocks most telemetry, leaving only the necessary APIs

If you want a total user sandbox, you create another user and install gservices there.

Are there problems with OTP in this environment?

There are like 30 ways to send/generate an OTP.

  • Well, great, but the fairphone is like 2 months behind on security patches, and they generally never do more than 1 OS update (for comparison, my pixel 7 has gotten 3 now, and with the 2 more years of support its likely to get 5 in total).

So basically instead of getting a phone that works for 8 years, you get a permanent security liability that is more likely to get water damage.

I mean sure, great idea, I would buy a phone with inferior CPU if I can support something good, but instead of something good I’m getting something inferior in every aspect just so I can change the battery in 2 years when I won’t need the phone anyway because they just abandon any kind of timely updates anyway??

(BTW, I checked, the fairphone 5 is to this day still on android 14, a 2 year old OS. They could not care enough to update a 2 year old phone in 2 years except the legally necessary patches, they can’t even release a monthly patch, and yet I should trust them with my most valuable data?)

    1. Radical is simply a term meaning that something about the thing you are describing is very different from the status quo, meaning conservatives can also be radical.

    2. reactionary is a term that is associated with many thing, but not the far right aka. Nationalsozialism.

Therefore, I wouldnt describe Trump supporters the same as I wouldnt describe this post and image itself: nonsensical pure idiocy.

  • So, they’re basically bridges that allow you to use some Windows programs in Linux?

They are like really Bad cocaine. Sure, it may work, but if you want to give up that much time, might as well learn an alternative because the next version will need a new workaround.

I read they can use vst files with a bit of work

    That’s an emulator.

Is there a difference between Wine and Proton

Proton-ge is a fork of proton is a fork of wine, which only exists because Wine isnt made for gaming specifically and proton can’t include a bunch of stuff because of legal reasons which enhance gaming further.

  • The DB is like Sparkasse and others not „the” DB but a bunch of different regional companies. Some of them around bigger cities decided to make a regional zone network like The MVV. At The same time many make other regional Tickets with others, like the bayernwald ticket, which covers part of these MVV network and non MVV networks.

So you might just think „well why not just make everything into a zone tarif”, but if you do that, if someone wants to go from Hessen to munich, since the zones are so big/many, they will have to pay way too much for many stations they will not even want to go to.

But for smaller places like the mvv network, if you abolish those zones, most stations will just just as much and the small ones which only accounted for cents if your zone ticket will die out.

So personally I think the problem with these tarif prices is just the over advertisement of time limited offers that only work for specific people and people not having properly learned about the 2 most important tickets in public transport: stripe cards for simple one way routes or zone tickets if you want a flatrate.
