For me its moreso about what the older gens won’t use than what the younger ones will
My general metric:
Hahaha = gen x
Lol = older millenial
Lmao = younger millenial
💀 = Gen z
Very well said, did you ever read the sort-of-prequel portrait of the artist as a young man?
The thing i always think about is that qoute from Virginia Wolfe where she likens the writing to a schoolboy doing stunts for the sake of getting attention. I remember thinking that was exactly how it felt while I was reading Ulysses, it felt like a highschool creative writer mashing things together without considering whether it was actually good or not.
However im not going to sit here and pretend im an objective critic. The book is obviously famous and important for a reason. I’m interested to know how it saved your life, if you feel like sharing
You know how when you’re studying literature you’re generally supposed to assume that everything is intenional and there’s nothing just thrown in for no reason … Well when you read Joyce, it’s really really hard not to feel like he’s just doing things for the sake of being pretentious and obtuse.
Boy that would seriously mess with the narrative of this comment section if that were the case
Edit: oh no
I used to have a friend who was born with his left hand disabled and could only really play videogames on easy unless they had heavy accessibility options. Whenever i see these weird “dark souls needs to be hard” people i cant help but think about him and how he’s barred from playing these deep, visually impressive games because the community starts sending death threats at the mere mention of an easy mode.
Agreed. I’d say Skyrim’s only real innovation where RPGs are concerned was its accessibility. Thats why it’s become such a staple of online culture, because anyone could pick it up and play it, so pretty much everyone did.
Haha thats actually a solid idea. I’d drink astronaut water in a heartbeat.
I think your right the honesty is refreshing but when it comes to marketing i think reclaimed water is just about the last place you want that kind of honesty
Listen imma level with you bro, if they are genuinely calling it “toilet to tap”, and you dont get why people might find that a little off-putting, then i dont think this thread has anything for you.
Oh i love Doug, alright nice dual reference dude 👍
Oh, ok. Whats the other reference too?
Oh… well then you spelled your made up parody word wrong :/
Not related but i disabled Google’s access to my microphone and then somehow my phone lost the ability to send photos. I cant confirm the two things were related but it really feels deliberate.
I don’t exactly know whether this strat is redundant or not but I wear noise cancelling earbuds with full earmuffs overtop and it seems to do a good job. Plus i get the added benefit of being able to listen to music and hear phonecalls while on a machine.
When i figure out what gen a’s ‘funny’ synonym is I’ll update the list
