I mean, isn’t that how trademark is supposed to work? I’m no expert or anything but the original creator hadn’t used the trademark in over ten years and ostensibly had no intention to do so. He also didn’t respond to the notice of opposition.
Seems to me the courts did the right thing in letting gametech have the trademark if they intended to use it.
That’s not to say that I support them making a shitty Cryptobro game but them obtaining the trademark by itself doesn’t really seem shady to me.
I honestly got the impression that it was some half baked idea from some boneheaded executive that didn’t have any idea how they were even going to put it into practice anyway.
Wouldn’t be surprised if they just couldn’t figure out how to get it working without major issues.
Maybe because there’s usually not even a perceptible difference in visual quality between the two and a very noticeable performance difference.
This process is akin to how humans learn by reading widely and absorbing styles and techniques, rather than memorizing and reproducing exact passages.
Machine learning algorithms are not people and are not ingesting these works the same way a person does. This argument is brought up all the time and just doesn’t ring true. You’re defending the unethical use of copyrighted works by a giant corporation with a metaphor that doesn’t have any bearing on reality; in an age where artists are already shamefully undervalued. Creating art is a human process with the express intent of it being enjoyed by other humans. Having an algorithm do it is removing the most important part of art; the humanity.
Could only improve things honestly.
My Durge run has been pretty fun. Cut off Gail’s hand when he was reaching out of that rock and never had to deal with him again. So that was cool.
Yeah I don’t really get all the hate. Is it the greatest game ever? No not even a little. Is it good though? Yeah I think so. The combat isn’t all that deep but I’m mostly enjoying it for the writing and world building. It also helps that it’s a gorgeous game.
That being said I can’t see paying full price for it. I subscribed to ubisoft + for it and plan on canceling once I’m done with it. Playing it that way makes it cheaper than a ticket to the movies but for way more hours of pretty star wars locales.
So? That’s literally how game design works.
When I was in high school from 08-2012 basically no one stood up for the pledge. I went to an art school though so nationalism wasn’t really at all prevalent. Ironically though our mascot was a patriot.
Nintendo really only has a history of taking down fan remakes of existing Nintendo games or games that are charging money. They’ve never to my knowledge had a free fan game or romhack taken down nor do I think they’d have any sort of legal grounds to do so even if they wanted to. And this essentially boils down to a ROM hack. Which is almost certainly completely safe from Nintendo’s lawyers since it doesn’t contain any Nintendo made assets.
Might be an unpopular opinion but I personally think this is fine. Especially for console. As long as the frame pacing is consistent I don’t think the game is going to be harmed by being at 30 fps. If this were PC or a competitive game it might be a different story but aiming on an Xbox controller is already suboptimal and once you play for a while your brain stops thinking about the framerate.
Then again I still go back and play Cod zombies in split screen with my gf on the 360 from time to time which doesn’t even have a consistent frame rate. So I may be someone less worried about that sort of thing.
I like the idea of pirating my gender. Sounds like I pilfered someone’s penis. Which is just an objectively fun sentence to say.
Not only that but it’s literally the only version of the game not to support hot seat multiplayer. When the switch is literally perfect to just pass around for the next person’s turn. I bought it for that reason assuming it’d have it but nope. Was mad. In fact; Am mad.
What did he call it first then? A large hello?
Not just ads, but also unactionable anaphylaxis! It’s a steal really.
Not sure the gluttony thing is right. Has God ever been described eating literally anything?
This reads like ”thats not a crazy amount of alcohol to consume for someone who consumes a crazy amount of alcohol"
Not sure where you live but it’s typically illegal for your landlord to show up unannounced.
