Tbf square cut is also a travesty. It is the norm where I live, but I have a great Neapolitan joint that knows how to cut triangles.

If the bulb is on, switch 2 controls it. If the bulb is hot but off switch 1 controls it. If the bulb is cold and off, switch 3 controls it.

41·5 months agoPeople love the GC controller but I prefer the N64 even considering joystick failure. I never liked the stiff joysticks and mushy l/r buttons on the GC.
I also feel like the N64 was the last Nintendo console made for kids and adults. GC games seem cutesy and infantalized compared to older Nintendo consoles, and they’ve been like that ever since.
Cartridges are superior to discs for game performance and stack nicely without cases. They are also less prone to damage.
Most importantly, the N64 hit my nostalgia prime time where the GC was too late. My younger relatives love the GC.
Dog shoes my friend. They make fleece, rain boots, waterproof winter, lots of choices. I found a local grandma that makes them but they’re also sold at pet stores.

3·5 months agoI wrote a Monte Carlo simulation of an electron microscope lens given an input file with the number, arrangement, and power of lens elements. It would then calculate focal length, aberration coefficients, and display a graphic representation of the range of beam paths.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Older people (30+) online, what would you advise younger generations in regards to life?English
201·5 months agoStart exercise today. Younger folks gain strength and speed much easier than old people. Lack of physical capability kills the elderly, so the more strength and stamina you start with and work to maintain, the longer you will be mobile.
Do cardio and strength exercises. Endurance should be at least 80% of your cardio, that means slow. Brisk walks or slow jogs. For strength training focus on big hinge movements like squats. Start out small, body weight exercises, and go from there. Get some time with a trainer to check your form.
This is probably apocryphal. No evidence that guy said that quote according to Snopes.

41·6 months agoTo avoid using the same are for my butthole before my face, I always use the left side of the towel on my upper body and the right side on my lower body. I always keep the left side on the left so I can keep track.
Exactly this. I know millennials that use third party food delivery services for convenience, but I have not and will not. It is predatory, the drivers do not make a living wage with benefits. It also costs too much and the food arrives lukewarm and soggy.
I enjoy eating out now and then, but I can get my ass into a car or walk to a restaurant to pick up my order myself. It is better and cheaper to DIY your own delivery.

Yeah my heat pump is something like 2000% efficient. It can cheat because it doesn’t convert electricity into heat, it uses electricity to move heat from the outside to the inside (or vice versa).
But does it have AI?
I’m not sure, it sounds like Paris was pretty happening in the 1500s.

During the 16th century, Paris was the largest city in Europe, with a population of about 350,000 in 1550.
