A few songs by Modern Talking. Only about once a year, though.
Speaking of which…

Sure, but she’s just a symptom. There’s tons of people that use it the same way. Hell, the whole LLM GF fiasco is a canary and we just keep going.

Sleep still sucks. Can’t get it to work.
How dare these people I’m stealing from not respond to my suggestion to give up all of their stuff in a civilized tone!

2·16 days agoThat’s all well and good, but Asterix is a satirical comic book making a point about wage slavery, not happy slaves. The author is French, the story in France, and the slaves are Roman.
And I might have imagined the re-enslaving, too. I can’t find it in plot summaries. Maybe it’s in the movie adaptation, but the scene of their “freeing” is pretty clear about its point.

17·16 days agoAsterix did a great bit on that. Slaves are freed and put to work for money, but suddenly they owe for food, housing, clothing, infrastructure etc. and are just as much slaves as before. In fact, they go back to being slaves because then they don’t have to worry anymore.
In the current US economy that would just be called investing.

No-one deserves your donations, but that sounds like you’re letting perfect get in the way of good. There are tons of things that speak for Signal. They made the whisper protocol and they consistently protect privacy where they can. I’ve used it for years (meaning I’ve actively generated costs for them without any revenue), and that qualifies as good for me.
Options are great when you can make an informed choice. Too many similar choices lead to choice paralysis and regret, which is bad for first time users.
Yes. A habit is easier than thinking about every clothing item individually.
