I honestly thought that Mejiro’s dad was going to be the school vampire from earlier in the season.
Seki has been missing for a while, by the way. The way the father acted reminded me of Seki. I’m wondering if Kiku was the father’s progenitor.

Yes! I just caught up from the beginning of S1 starting Sunday. It has been a wild ride.

There will most likely always be humans owning the resources. We are big on self governance, and some humans will always insist on sitting on the top and leading. Whether this is at a small scale of a human running a shop filled with vending machines, medium scale of a human or board of people running a large business, or massive scale of a world emperor who has claimed ownership of all land and wishes to direct the organization of things with a group of specialists.
The dream is to have a world of automation, where all needs are met. The reality is that humans always want more. People will attempt to control resources to amass power. Those who have power will likely use humans for entertainment.
Outside of these things, there will be levels of rejection of automated care. I expect there will be artisans who wish to impart the human touch. People will want human media. I can foresee a cult of humanity, who insists on making everything from raw materials.
The average city dweller may have it good, but those on the fringe of society and people who live in rural areas will be the easiest targets.

I went into this show expecting straight trash. Now I want to meet Mr Field and see the MC get a human body.
Honestly, I think the MC would be happiest if he could assume a humanoid form at will.

Hah, yeah, this is very far from my specialty, fixing computers. I only felt empowered by my many trips to the zoo and Google-fu.

The Cincinnati Zoo has been maintaining that bonobos are our closest living relative for over 17 years
I’m not strongly disputing the information you provided, I’m just pointing out what I have seen. There does seem to be some professional dispute about this:
https://www.bonobos.org/blog/bonobos-our-living-ancestor/
The idea that chimps and bonobos are equally similar in DNA is probably correct. I see it repeated on NPR, Duke Universe, and the NIH. My guess is that the push for differentiation is some combination of conversation efforts and both morphological and social studies.

I thought bonobos were closer, genetically.

This is a situation where AI needs to be correct nearly 100 percent of the time. Errors mean wasted time from the employees correcting orders and wasted food from incorrect orders. An employee that makes hourly mistakes is a problem. No AI proponents are saying that Gen AI is going to be 100 percent correct because the goal is Gen AI is to provide a probable answer.
I’m not sure if you have read this, but here is an example of a more simple interface where Claude was asked to run a vending machine. At times it acted out an existential crisis or even attempted to call the FBI.

Whoa, papers please. Not the physical ones, I need you to hand over your smart phone and we will scan your access.
You need to go get a drink of water.

I definitely got a lot of mileage out of Kubuntu and Xubuntu. Xubuntu the most, trying to get more mileage out of a p4 or early dual core in 2012.
I’m trying to convince myself that I will enjoy something like Bazzite, but I’m not sure about something built off snaps.

I’d argue people were really starting to discover the Internet at about the smart phone boom and housing crash of 07/08. I was talking about Wikipedia with someone then and they stopped taking to me for a while. They thought I was saying something like Wiccan-pedo.

Run something stable that will remind you to update it. I’m familiar with Debian, Ubuntu, Arch and Mint.
I advise against Ubuntu only because of the ads. I don’t want to endorse that behavior.
I advise against Arch only because you don’t want to be sorting out dependencies instead of using it for the intended purpose.
Debian and Mint both would probably be fine. Much software is written and either in the repository or has a deb.
I’m sure that others might work fine. I don’t have much experience with the snap based builds, but I guess they will be fine as well.

I am using proxmox to host my docker machine as well. I’m also using it to host a W11 machine for just-in-casies. Third machine so far is a VM for testing.

Yeah, I’m catching your message and am sad that I cannot realize it here and now. Our bus system is not robust and complicates anything more than a simple trip along the line.

Some of the larger cities in the US have light rail. I live near Cincinnati, which had their light rail projects killed in favor of personal vehicles. I believe a proper rail system here would be a huge boon, but it is not well visualized by the half million residents here between three states and 8-9 counties.
Amtrak here is mainly used for service between cities. People generally forget it exists until it is brought up. I only ever hear about people traveling by car or plane.
So, to address my giggles and before I answer your real question, this is what I thought your bike was going to be hitched to. I believe it would have been a terrible ride.

The information here may address your questions. As loud as I have been, I am actually terribly unfamiliar with rail travel. https://www.amtrak.com/bring-your-bicycle-onboard

Thank you for asking though. I got a smile out of imagining someone with a bicycle firmly attached to an Amtrak train and stuck sitting on it for 200 miles.
A friend of mine recommended it to me and I’m so glad I watched it. The opening to S2 goes so hard, too.
