  • It can be two things. Most people citing molon labe online like this have a desire to use their guns in self-righteous justification. This guy already has, got away with it, and was celebrated by terrible people. He also got on the outs with the same crowd that loved him by saying he wouldn’t vote for Trump over his gun rights record(then quickly tried to take it back when Maga went against him).

He wants his adoring fans back, perhaps not realizing they didn’t like him, they just like that he got away with fulfilling a fantasy many of them have: killing people they hate.

  • deathmatch

    breathes in

    or tree cutting sim

    Oh, nvm then.

Edit: I may be mistakenly looping stuff like Darktide, Helldivers, Monster Hunter, etc into Deathmatch, as those are most of my co-ops aside from survival builders. I also play FFXIV and Elite Dangerous with friends so not hurting as much as others for co-op.

  • I listen to a variety of podcasts for different moods, and I also use it like music. Sometimes I’m in a music mood, sometimes I decide I need to hear how terrible Kissinger really was, sometimes I want to hear Dan research and refute all the lies Alex Jones spouts (the last two come often with the benefit of learning the origin of bullshit being spouted by some internet personalities), and sometimes I want to hear 3-5 guys who I find funny discuss movies and/or Wikipedia articles. I also like listening to factual and historical podcasts that have more detailed researching.

Why listen when I could look up and read it? Well I do look up and read specific topics, but that takes my full attention. I have ADHD and my mind can wander without additional input if I’m doing something tedious. So I listen while driving, cooking, cleaning, working, and even gaming. Gaming isn’t tedious per say, but sometimes you have bursts of that (farming items, repeatable dailies, etc). I pause when I really need to, but some games I also play for relaxation, and I can relax and listen to a funny podcast at the same time. If it’s work or gaming where I need focus, music works better.

  • So, as a tech I’m not sure we should actually be complaining about that. In searches, ai prompts, issue descriptions, and even driving, being friendly or polite is not very useful. Being specific, to the point, and accurate is far more useful. Predictable in many of this stuff too.

Get an error message? I want the specific error message, down to the spelling. No need to sugar coat, euphemisms, or a more humanized description of the issue. So being very specific and sounding “rude” might be much easier for an AI to process. It doesn’t have to try to figure out what you really mean from context clues, body language, or deduction. Just tell it exactly what you want in the most direct way that cannot be misunderstood.

  • Your original comment could be taken in various tones and they wanted a clarification. For what it’s worth, it is useful to some to hear it, since it could help people see differences between the US and other countries. It’s just said in a way that felt more like “Butchers don’t do this” rather than “As the contrast, I don’t see this done in my country”. Either way though, in the spirit of the question it is sorta off topic.

It’s like asking “Why does this currency have this person on it?” and getting the answer “I’ve never seen that currency used anywhere I lived.” While true, it’s not really relevant, doesn’t answer the question, and can either be taken as a long winded way to say “I don’t know” or stubborn self centered everything worth knowing is centered around your own experiences. Which is definitely reading into it too much, but there are people who act like that, either as trolls or real jingoists.
