  • You should doubt everything you hear. Pull it apart and see if the pieces themselves make any sense. Examine the logic and look for flaws in it that make the conclusion invalid. Ask questions.

You SHOULD doubt me, absolutely. Hold everything up to the light. A very important question to ask is “why am I being told this? Who’s interests is served by telling me this?” Examine every piece.

For example, in the article, notice how everything is “seemingly” “implied” or “appears to”. Those aren’t definitive words. Those are gossip words. No concrete claim is actually made. Just the appearance of one. The sources are just other random Twitter comments speculating.

  • Honestly, I feel like being a Luddite and everytime someone shows art from now on, critique the ever loving hell out of their process.

“Did you make the brushes yourself from sheep you raised? Did you grind the pigments from plants you grew yourself?”

Art is amazing, but artists are some of the most delicate people. Their entire career is, in a way, a showcase of themselves, and if you take any part of that away from them or judge it, they become incredibly hostile and take it deeply personally. But literally the same kind of criticisms they’re making now are taught in art history about previous advancements. It’s just the same fragile egos afraid that they’re not as special anymore.

Nah, it’s because we don’t keep putting forth a Strawman argument. Tipped jobs are ALLOWED to pay their workers less than minimum wage IF AND ONLY IF their tips do not make up the difference. If they do not, the employer must cover it.

It is literally subsidizing the wages that otherwise the business would legally have to pay. So how do you fight back? You don’t tip and employees need to properly report their tips. The system already has the mechanism in place to fix this.

But you say this and all the people who make WAY MORE than minimum wage with their tips get up in arms because you’re daring to take away their advantage. It’s being exploited by both sides. It’s not about fair treatment for everyone, it’s about “getting mine at someone else’s expense”.

You realize that with CSAM, you need to know the laws of every country you operate in and the laws surrounding that, right? Do you know an international lawyer willing to donate their time for free to make sure youre compliant with every regulation?

What about GDPR? Similar rules in other countries?

And again, how are you gonna put copyrighted material on it and NOT get shut down?

And imagine the best case scenario: you create a free media server for anyone to use. Wanna guess how long it’ll take before you’re out of bandwidth? Video streaming is bandwidth intensive. You’re just gonna give all that out for free? Because remember, if you charge for it and a single copyrighted video is on there, you’re looking at numerous criminal charges for facilitating it.

It’s just not feasible unless you cram it full of ads or neuter it so much it’s worthless. Stop being delusional. If this was on a piracy community I’d be on board because they at least understand that what they are doing isnt legal and would take proper precautions to try and stay under the radar. You’d expect it to one day get shut down.

$3600 to build a media server anyone can access… Bro is delusional. Not to mention, how are you gonna put a single thing on it without breaking the law? The moment there is a single video there that you don’t have license/copyright to, the whole thing gets shut down. Especially if you charge for access, which you will have to, otherwise your bandwidth will be gone in a second. And you want to complicate this further by making it international.

Cool idea, but the logistics alone make this nearly impossible. This would only work in a pro-piracy community that understands that what they are doing is technically illegal.

Also, whatcha gonna do when the first CSAM gets uploaded and now suddenly you gotta follow legal regulations of numerous countries on how to properly report/sanitize the server?
