Although I’m still confused on what the clock would show in an hour. Because if the subclocks mirror the parent clock at the given time, then they would all be stuck to the hour they are positioned on? Or if they can move then the sublcocks are coupled to 3 o’clock of the main clock. But well, it is all hypothetical anyways :D

Is it on purpose that all clocks in this are coupled at the 3 o’clock position? I assume all the clocks go the same speed. Then the large clock and all the smaller clocks at the 3 o’clock position (there are 13 of them) would show the same time. E.g. in one hour, the 12 o’clock position would show 1 o’clock, but the large clock and all the clocks on the 3 o’clock position would show 4 o’clock.

Oh and why is it a clock squared if you have three layers of clocks? Isn’t it cubed then?

I’ve been using two different (refurbished) Pixel phones with CalyxOS for over 3 years now. It is a really great experience :) And the photos the phones can take are great, too!

Let’s say that we have a more recent micro SD card of 1 TB. So to contain the same information in a punch card (with a byte density of 80 byte/156 cm² = 0.512 byte/cm²), we would need a card of 512,820,512,820 cm². If I’m not mistaken that would be a punch card the size of 51 km²!! This is wild :O

Yes, same for me! Has been working great for some years now :) The customer service was also always helpful even when doing stupid things (like incorrectly saving the password in my pw manager and then having to reset the pw on the same day as opening up my account lol)

I have the feeling that intense interests often lead to being awkward because it is assumed that “normal” people don’t so this. If I start passionately talking about my interests, neurotypical people often don’t get why I’m so intense about it and either find me boring, too much or cute (in a patronizing way). And having learnt to mask a lot and not show my interests, I often feel frustrated not to be able to share my interests. So for me, being awkward and having special interests are tied together.

But still, I’d rather be awkward than being such a boring person without the passion for their interests. I’m also trans and queer, and I wouldn’t like to be a cishet person either. Although it sucks so much not fitting in society and frequently being discriminated against, I wouldn’t be me without these traits. I would just be a very narrowminded, boring and passionless person I guess (I obviously don’t know how to imagine being someone else, not meant to be offensive). In my utopia, people would just be accepting of others and different needs and expressions.

Same. I often find people identifying with “nerd stuff” and wanting to be seen as nerdy somehow annoying for exactly that reason. I didn’t choose to be awkward or to have intense special interests.

Interesting point and you’re certainly right about Aurora. I also use startpage.com as my default search engine and there it is basically the same. While I don’t give Google my data, I still rely on it nonetheless…

Oh ok, that clarifies it for me. I guess it would still be helpful to distinguish between Google really trapping someone inside their walled garden and them just exerting a strong incentive to stay inside the walled garden. I mean, you can have a custom rom on your phone etc. But still most people won’t choose this because it would mean technical literacy that hardly anyone has as well as giving up the comfortability and features of the walled garden.

To me it is a bit confusing what you are looking for exactly. Like, if you want to know where you really need an Google account with no alternative there are probably few situations. Usually there are alternatives although they may require some or even a lot of effort. Or do you want to know in how far Google makes it so comfortable and is so dominant that it becomes the default for most people?

Like someone else in the comments here, I also live in Germany and do not have any Google account (or any GAMAM account). I couldn’t think of any apps that I would need where a Google account is required? Of course, if you are using stock android it may be necessary. But who exactly is forced to use android or ios if they can also use a custom rom?

The only case I can think of where you would be forced to use Google is when your employer or any group you are in is requiring you to participate with a Google account. But I’m not sure how they could force you to do so and even then, alternatives could be found, if other people are willing to do so.

I don’t get the 911/112 example. But maybe it’s because I’m generally confused about what you are trying to find out exactly.

Yes, but e.g. I played Song of Farca (playable) and there the SD info was all green except for “this game sometimes shows mouse, keyboard or non-Steam Deck controller icons”. In some games, this just means that the menu is somewhat clunky etc. But in this specific game you have to use the mouse (right track pad) the whole time and the UI is incredibly clunky. This was just very frustrating.

Oxygen not included is another example where you need to use the track pad like a mouse the whole time although in this case the game is even verified. Same goes for Stasis: Bone Totem and Mini Motorways, both very hard (for me at least) to play on SD although they are in fact officially verified.

Observation is a game that runs much better than the other examples although it is officially unsupported. (Stories Untold by the same studio doesn’t work at all because of the weird UI.)

You see my frustration? Often you have to deduce from some gameplay footage or by how the game is presented, how well it will work on the SD.

I wish there would be a distinction in games running smoothly on SD in general and games that work great with the default screen/controller setup. There are many games that are designed for a desktop PC with mouse and keyboard that are just painful to play on the default SD setup. But as it is now, it is hard to distinguish between this and games not running because of performance limitations etc.

Isn’t this comparable to utilities you buy for smoking weed (talking about countries where it is still illegal) like a bong or a special grinder? They are only really used for doing something illegal but it is still legal to buy them.

If you’re searching for a cyberpunk game with good story, I can highly recommend Cloudpunk!
