The cat and me share our birthday, this year for the 19th time. I always cook him a cat dinner, served warm. Rest of the year he is on a strict diet.

I wish you good.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is it common courtesy to stack your shopping cart back with the other carts?
7·25 days agoIt is viewed as antisocial behaviour to leave your cart on the parking space, where I am from. I always put my cart back in the shortest row of carts. I like to make it as conveniant as possible for the people working at the supermarket.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What was the most under rated British TV show ever for you?
23·1 month agoI really liked a sitcom called Detectorists (2014-2017) from and with Mackenzie Crook. Ran for three seasons. Not many people know about this show here in the Netherlands. I hoped it had stayed on for longer.

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Bazzite install failed at writing EFI partition
2·1 month agoMaybe check your drives for errors.
I had this EFI problem and it turned out to be a couple of file system errors on one of my old windows HDD’s I use for data (not the W11 system drive). I read it somewhere on internet this could be the problem. I think after doing the scannow thing and catching errors on Windows 11, Bazzite installed fine on a clean formatted SSD after.
Bazzite seems to be picky on disk errors, unlike Windows, Windows reported it as totally fine until I checked manually.
Just to make sure I disconnected the data drive, Bazzite installed without any effort (or errors).

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What paid software is absolutely worth the money?
1·2 months agoSame happened to me with Recycle, Reason Studio’s stopped online activation. I still have the official, useless CD-Rom. So I have the 2.1 version that I did not pay for.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What paid software is absolutely worth the money?
3·2 months agoDidn’t have any issues with that either (from memory.) Lightweight and solid. Until version 8 Reason was pretty good.
I only use Reason sometimes as a plugin now into Studio One. It does have some unique features I still like to use, but as a main sequencer I would not recommend any version later than 8, which you can’t buy.
My advice for beginners to start with Reaper and it comes very cheap and full featured compared to most major DAW’s.
I am from the Steinberg era back in the 80s with a C64/Amiga, 90s with Cubase on Atari and PC…that is why I switched to Studio One. Suits me best, and the Artist 5 version came free with the Presonus controller (that I did not need) for an extra 20€ on the normal software price.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What paid software is absolutely worth the money?
10·2 months agoAs a day one user since release in 2000 (and before that Rebirth and Recycle)…
It can be pirated, lately eats resources, crashes a lot, overpriced plugins, audio crackling no matter what buffer settings after updates and to this day doesn’t have any ootb support for MIDI routing. After 20 years, and 400+ projects later I ditched that software. It became unreliable, used to be rock solid.
Propellerhead got aquired by an investment company, and Ernst left…became Reason Studios and then went downhill slowly. Last version I bought was Reason 12 upgrade and got more and more disappointed, stopped using it almost 2 years ago after another crash losing ideas.
Now on Studio One, also paid.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Do you ever watch old classic TV shows and realize that they are all dead
5·2 months agoWell yeah, watching Kolchak The Night Stalker lately, aired around 1975 and looking up some of the actors…they’ve mostly passed away.

cats@lemmy.world•Fat cats are taking Ozempic now — and it could be the solution to terminal feline illnesses
9·2 months agoJust 1 kilo more weight on a cat is 10+ kilo weight on humans. A 5 kilo cat that is 1 kilo overweight has already 25% more bodymass.
Our cat is almost 19 years old, less active, had to go on a diet for being too heavy. Our cat is a big one normally at 5 kilo and didn’t look overweight, but needed to lose a kilo as he gained weight since his last checkup. He gained weight pretty quick.

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•RIP Windows: Linux GPU Gaming Benchmarks on Bazzite
8·3 months agoOrdered a PCI m.2 x2 adapter card just now, a 1 TB (system) and 2TB (games) NVME drive to start gaming on Bazzite.
Everything neatly on 1 PCI adapter card so I can test on both my game rigs. For now to dual boot (or from bios) as I am inexperienced with Linux, but hoping to ditch W11 on both of them.
