I guess I never thought about it that way. Worldwide releases are usually GMT, so you just get it when you get it. I’d feel selfish wanting to have it oriented around the US, even though that may be the largest consumer base. (Note OP I’m not directing that last comment towards your question, just my thoughts)

When you’re ready about the sound part of your build, take a look at JDS labs atom 2 amp, I use it (don’t have a DAC because my motherboard onboard audio is surprisingly clean) and have paired this amp ($129) with Sennheiser HD600 headphones. I play lots of games and listen to music. This pairing is really good at giving you the sound nearly exactly how it was meant to be heard. There’s a reason HD600s are used in many recording studios. JDS labs also has a DAC+Amp combo which many like. I was using a $60 altoids tin cmoybb amp from them for 13 years prior to this for hd5xx series Sennheiser headphones before this, just wanted a bit more.

You can’t really use good headphones without an amp, they should really be thought of as a package deal.

I’m a huge Sennheiser fan, there are many other great options out there too, but just wanted to share my own setup. There have been some great deals on the HD600 lately, around the $250 mark.

I 100% agree with you. I wish repairability was more of a thing so we could avoid more environmental waste, among other things. It also feels nice to fix something yourself.

Any fender bender means massive repairs. I’ve been replacing bulbs for over 30 years, it’s nice to have great visibility and not having to worry about bulb replacement. I totally get your point, but it’s a non-issue for me altogether. I’ve never had to replace them up to this point, and I’ll never have to replace them in the future most likely.

I’ve driven it for so long at this point if I get in a fender bender it’ll be totaled anyway. They’re mathematically engineered to last between 41 and 68 years. That’s one cost I’ll never have to worry about.

If you haven’t yet watched Cosmos with Carl Sagan as the host, you should consider watching it. It’s borderline not what you asked for because it doesn’t really have fiction, however Carl was so incredibly good at storytelling and making incredibly complex Science understandable through his awesome narrative abilities, I’d recommend it if you hadn’t already seen it.

Chernobyl - HBO drama of the disaster, but the last episode goes into extreme detail of the actual event and why things happened the way they did. Fascinating

MythBusters - I’m sure you have likely seen this but it’s entertaining and you learn a lot. Lots of jokes and personality.

Forged in Fire - show where blacksmith/bladesmith contestants compete to make forged blades using varied metals, and then the judges put those finished blades through grueling tests, to ultimately crown a single smith as the winner each episode. I’m not anywhere close to this profession, yet it taught me a TON about blacksmithing and bladesmithing, and if I had an acreage with a big shop, I’d definitely be doing it as a hobby. So cool to see the things they create.

My Acura MDX has permanent LEDs, they cannot be changed without buying a complete new headlight assembly. I’ve been driving it for 11 years and have never had any of them fail. They will outlast the car.

My favorite is that app called Weezy Breather.

Ethernet is the way to go. At least try it if you can to see if that improves things or if it’s another component of your network.

Mine is 1ms at all times, it’s such an amazing app. My network is also very much not typical, but Ethernet should help a ton for you.
