    • Only lay in bed for sex and sleep, nothing else.
    • Make sure your screens are off or have an orange filter for nighttime.
    • Toke it up, if you want and it’s legal, about 20 minutes before bed.
    • Go to bed around the same time each night.
    • and the most important… INVEST IN A GOOD MATTRESS!

Not affiliated at all, just a customer, but AmeriSleep beds have been the best beds I’ve ever laid in! They have just enough give in firmness to avoid hip pain while sleeping on my side, but support those pressure points evenly with your spine.

To turn away from the “go hard onto Linux” tropes, try Windows Update Blocker (WuB). I’ve been using it to pick when my machine, as well as friends and families machines, update. Every month or so, you need to turn updates back on by using it and updating the OS, but it can be scripted to enable/disable updates at any time, if you don’t feel like thinking about it. It not only blocks if but protects from reenabling updates by that fucking medic service that will try to turn it back on when the machine is idle.

  • I don’t run my own instance, but one concern I see grappled with by instances, at some time in their existence, is how to handle image storage and embedding. I won’t pretend to know the options or have opinions on which to use or how to resolve the larger issues, but I see that as a large hurdle to mainstream, in addition to the points referenced by OP.

    • The Fountain
    • Schindler’s List
    • Idiocracy
    • This is SpinalTap
    • Saving Private Ryan
    • Monty Python and the Holy Grail

Probably missing some, but these are the ones I can remember right now. I think Schindler’s List should be required viewing by everyone before they graduate high school. I remember when they used to air it on regular TV, unedited and uncensored, commercial free. I feel we were nicer and more willing to avoid wars back then.

I ain’t ashamed to say it, I cry every damn time I watch it.

  • Yeap! On principal, I won’t buy any game that dumps pre-orders of games on Steam in lieu of exclusivity, from other non-Epic platforms, even if I liked the game series before. For instance, I have really liked the Metro series of games. However, as soon as the third game was announced as exclusive to Epic, I refused to purchase it on Steam even after the exclusivity deal expired. It didn’t help that the creator of the Metro games caught wind of people refusing to buy the game and threatened to not make anymore if sales bombed on Epic.

I’m just so tired of all the entities in this world that would rather make a quick buck, then milking as much from the player-base as possible, while standing in the way of me eeking out some sort of happiness in this shit-ass capitalistic hellscape. Would I rather be doing more creative shit with my free time or enjoying life in some capacity? Sure, but until we tear down this shitty pyramid scheme our society has bought into, games are the one thing that I still enjoy. I watch them actively deleting content for games I love, or making the content only available on specific platforms, and it makes me want to flay these wealthy fucks and leave them for the crows…
