Ok but how is anyone meant to know if you generated your docstrings using copilot?

I left aeronautical engineering to become a software “engineer” for similar reasons, salary and work culture. Actual engineering pays quite terribly in the UK, it’s a fair bit better in Germany or the US from what I hear.
Yeah, same in the UK. Really annoyed me that the plumber, electrician… etc were all engineers. In Germany it’s as protected as calling yourself doctor, which ultimately affects how people view the profession and the salaries they command
I don’t think NATO members were ever at risk, especially now we know how ineffective the Russian military is in modern warfare

New day, new round of tech layoffs
I get why people are upset, but isn’t it kinda futile? Everything that can be replaced with AI will be. From arts to dev and anything else they can think of. It’s only a matter of time until the tech is good enough for any particular problem. Trying up legislate against it doesn’t seem useful either. People will get around it eventually.
We’re moving towards a world where lots of us won’t have viable jobs in these fields. We’ll either find different jobs or need some form of UBI
That’s an ADHD thing, welcome to the club. !adhd@lemmy.dbzer0.com
