@aeharding@vger.social just curious but do you know if anyone else has encountered this issue?
I’ve tried all I can and my inbox is unfortunately still broken so I’ve been having to check our Lemmy and Piefed webui for notification updates🥲
I’m hoping you might have ideas or things you could throw at me so we can test and kill this bug🙌

Does it even matter that it’s Mint in particular?
Yes somewhat because the devs of Linux Mint has created a reputable high quality First User’s Experience to Linux setup.
I’ve never used mint, but isn’t the DE (or WM if you abhor DEs) more important?
Somewhat yes but it’s mostly the combination of all the ingredients that can make or break the lasagna dish.
If we’re comparing the DEs with each other than Plasma would win hands down over Cinnamon but for introductory users looking to switch from Windows or Macs to Linux than DEs are less likely to be an immediate concern.
They all come with a package manager.
Linux Mint would use the APT package manager which is good for beginners as you’d be able to use the same troubleshooting steps as Ubuntu or Debian.
Except maybe Nix, from what I’ve heard
NixOS is complicated to say the least, in which I’ve previously discussed here
Linux Mint is a solid place to start I’d say.
Ubuntu/Canonical has…issues to say the least.
anyways, choosing Linux Mint is a great place to start🤗👍 and I say this as someone that’s tried:
Fair enough and thanks!
I’ve removed my downvote👍
Not sure you needed to duplicate the entire video description as it’s mostly self promo.
Really just the chapters is actually useful for the vid
I’m temporarily downvoting primarily because the majority of the post’s quotes aren’t useful or relevant for Gardiner’s vid.

Persoanlly it feels like Riaz/Longdue Games was trying to unreasonably coerce and then pressure Argo into signing away all IP and rights related to announcing a new game studio for the sake of trying to poach Disco Elysium’s prior fans.
I’ll have to see if this feeling holds up after I review the back and forth a couple of times but so far to me Riaz is pulling some shady toxic moves. I personally wouldn’t feel comfortable being in the same country as that guy.
I think this is a collection of indie game releases with Mike Klubnika being the host/presentor?

.Just tried it and unfortunately no dice :/
I also tried logging out and logging back into Voyager just in case.
As I’m out of time today I’ll try Raccoon and Intersteller tomorrow
Any suggestions for trying to see what might’ve went wrong on our instance?
I have no clue where to go from here, what I do know is I just want my inbox working again
Shadow did an update just now but unfortunately the issue persists.
At this point I have to assume something’s up with the app
Nothing stopping kids from making games within Minecraft
Same reason goes for open source alternatives developed by the community
Huh I thought smorks or otter updated the instance recently
I’ll check in with our team👍
Linux: KDE’s Okular
Android: Librera Reader
Heads up for those who only read the headline:
AI email generators can help write your emails quicker, but the risks often outweigh the benefits when granting them access to your private mailbox. Here’s why not to use AI email writers.
Tutanota is advocating against the use of AI writers for your sake
Had to go to the Archinstall repo to answer my question which was why would you skip installing the bootloader?
Add --skip-boot to allow for bypassing installation of a bootloader #3677
This allows for workarounds in those semi-rare cases where the bootloader step would normally cause issues, allowing users to manually install one once the other steps are completed.
Makes sense👍
