A drinking glass in the States is 500 mL ?! That’s huge ! In my part of the globe glasses are usually more between 120 and 250 mL.

It first reminded me of 1984 by Orwell, which is basically a love story. The way that the state try to control love (specifically in educated people) seems quite similar.
