It’s awful. We should absolutely defend ourselves but not go around indiscriminately beating up on people.

I mean, you’re not wrong lol! But at least it is supposed to go through a proper procedure with the state.
I know you’re being taken to task for this lol so I’m sorry, I’m not trying to pile on, but this is a HUGE pet peeve for me in fiction! Especially Hitler stuff. I would love to do a story about an Orthodox Jewish family that raises a baby cloned Hitler to be a devout Jew.
Oh? That’s awful! Totally agree that this should either default to invisible or make it easier for you to block.
Crazy to see this accurate comment downvoted even though it explains it perfectly. That’s the difference. Liberals are race reductionist right wing capitalists who are occasionally sympathetic to limited social democracy.
How long until you last saw him?
Although I would say that the inability to contact moderators and have a formal process of requests is significantly worse. I agree about the material sense of transparency.
Why were your probation officers putting in tickets with you?
Yes you do. Mobile apps bypass the end user’s ability to block data collection and spying lol
It’s how some technical people are generally. It always kept me from spending time in tech spaces even though I was always interested. It’s no excuse to be autistic because plenty of autistic people don’t rip your head off for not understanding concepts.
Stack overflow is great for learning from posts that are marked as duplicate! I’ve learned the most from those lol
I would ask if the poster is someone who came to lemmy and started mass posting immediately.

4·8 days agoBack in the late 90s when people started saying that to me, I’d just say ok, get naked RIGHT NOW. What, now you’ve got something to hide?
A few people took me seriously from that but it usually just fell short.

I remember after the Snowden NSA revelations, I was talking to some dipshit about bass lessons and I said we should avoid Skype because of the spying, and he made a joke about a tinfoil hat. Never talked to him again. I guess I’m just saying you gotta be careful not to swing the other way.
That’s why I’m objecting. Being fat isn’t a problem; it’s everything that can go along with it, like diabetes and so on. But being rich IS a problem. It’s kind of like saying “financial whiteness”.

It’s nice to see a few folks pushing back. This whole thing has the narrative of the ol’ incompetent state with its endless red tape and arbitrary nonsense!
Sometimes those things are true and it can be a pain, but it’s the same reason we don’t go out for vigilante justice. It wasn’t arbitrarily installed and no one noticed it because there’s no reason to check things like that.
