  • It’s a programming joke. If you declare variables or set a value to a space in the storage, this space is blocked even after the programme is done using that variable. So to write a programme with efficient use of storage, you have to free the storage space after you are using it.

Many programming languages use a routine called “garbage collector” to free unused storage space.

So, if you don’t want to be a garbage collector, you have to assign storage space manually.

Edit: because of the other comment, I thought this was c/ADHD. So the text reads a bit weird. Sorry.

Original: Firstly, sorry, I’m commenting as a person who doesn’t have ADHD (that I know of). But I always feel a certain way when people in general say, that there’s nothing to do. Now, I don’t know in which capacity ADHD affects you in creating or finding things to do. But I feel like, there could always be something to do.

    Here are a few examples:

    • make a wreath out of flowers
    • practice your handstand
    • guess cloud shapes
    • take a plunge in the lake
    • let flower petals float on the lake
    • built one of those stone towers that hikers always do

Or honestly, hiking back sounds like a good idea. Half an hour is an acceptable amount of time to stay at the peak/ any resting spot.
