This basically North American high school PTSD

I knew very few people in my high schools … yes high schools, I went to three different schools and in every one I didn’t know many people

In my first year of school … I quickly found out … you don’t take a shit in school … EVER!

It’s basically like prison rules … if you ever get caught in the bathrooms, you’re on your own as officials, teachers and adults are seldom there and you are stuck behind closed doors with other students, most who are older than you. So all you do is pee as fast as possible and leave. You usually wait until times and moments when its quiet and no one is there … or less likely to be there.

It’s nuts because the more I write about it and remember it … the more I felt like it was more like prison rules or an institution rather than a school for children or teens.

        … and Canadian

I think the same people who designed prisons were the same people who designed modern high schools … both in the US and in Canada

I had a friend who complained about the high windows that you can’t even see out of in his high school, and he swore up and down that the building used to be a prison. I tried looking it up now to see the history, but I can’t find anything lol. Wouldn’t be surprised though if they actually were former prisons and the school just didn’t want the stigma associated with them.
