Take the Kuleshov effect where a broodily staring man is edited with a secondary image which completely changes most people’s reading of the internal feeling of the person. It’s not a perfect system.

Take the Kuleshov effect where a broodily staring man is edited with a secondary image which completely changes most people’s reading of the internal feeling of the person.
