Sometimes … Pretty frequently, actually … I hear a series of pops standing up. So … Stop doing that? I can get behind that idea unless I have to walk anywhere to do so.
Make the front wheels out of duct tape, wrapped the opposite way and put a motor on the end of the bed. Then just use your barge pole as a steering paddle, you can poke at walls and stuff to redirect your momentum.

Get a bed on wheels and like a small barge pole to push yourself along.
Going up or downstairs seems like it might get a bit rough.
