This is actually sort of a proven fact with few exceptions just statistically speaking. The US generally never passes any laws that the billionaires oppose and only passes them if they approve.

Multivariate analysis indicates that economic elites and organized groups representing business interests have substantial independent impacts on U.S. government policy, while average citizens and mass-based interest groups have little or no independent influence.

It’s not fair to compare Democrats to Republicans, because Bill Clinton sat on the left side of the Lolita Express and that’s better than sitting on the right side.

Try saying both sides are the same on Reddit and get shouted down.

I’ve been saying for years that voting for the lesser of two evils is still a vote for evil. And, doing that, which we have been doing for decades, is how we got where we are. Those in power now are the ones who learned to use TV, radio, and now the internet to divide, drive and herd us using fear and propaganda. Looking back, it seems inevitable we’d end up where we are, and crystal clear this was the long-con intent for the past 60 years.

I can’t imagine what will happen when Trump (or Vance, if Trump keels over) cancels elections in three years.

Strictly speaking, they’re not the same. One is a near-right party, the other is a far right party. Although they ARE cut from the same cloth.
