I’m just curious I’d anyone here has successfully run arc raiders on Linux. If so what OS are you using and what was the setup if there was any?
The game is listed as ‘Platinum’ on ProtonDB: https://www.protondb.com/app/1808500
Arc raiders is steam deck verifiied, so it should run great on Linux.
It just got Steam Deck verified.

For how good the game looks, it runs amazingly.
It’s mostly good art direction than cutting edge tech.
I have 82 hours and crashed once during a match early on. Otherwise flawless performance and experience.
Oh there is a small stutter when quest cutscenes begin to play for the first time but that’s not bad.
Can’t speak for myself as I haven’t played it, but a good place I like to check is Protondb. Their page for Arc Raiders says it should be fully compatible :)
Obviously the folks posting at protondb can’t speak for anyone so hopefully some folks here have some helpful anecdotes!
Arc Raiders runs flawlessly on Linux.
Arch.
No steps required.
Protondb exists for a reason.
It’s Steam Deck verified, no need to check ProtonDB.
It works fine.
Arch
The setup was install it and press play.
I did add the ENVs for HDR.
If anyone knows an easier way to manage all of my steam game’s wine versions and command line arguments, lmk
I’ve been playing it the past few weeks with no issue, I’m on Garuda Linux with Hyprland. I have a 7900 XTX. The have runs at a consistent 100fps for about 2 hours then I start to get frame hitches where I drop down to 40. Just restarting the game fixes that issue for me.
Running perfectly on Bazzite with a 4090.
The only issue I encountered is that the game really doesn’t like being installed to a second drive. The anti cheat throws a hissy fit about paths.
Works fine for me on gnome/ubuntu/nvidia, altho it crashes if I tab out while a map is loading
Been playing it since beta test on Bazzite. No tinkering just click install and play.
I ran on Bazzite during the server slam right before release with few issues that I ended up sorting out. Their discord is very helpful and had a dedicated Linux support channel (I imagine there is a similar dedicated channel now that the game has fully released). Embark Studios has also stated that while they don’t officially support Linux, they do support it on a best-effort basis and partner with a testing company that tests the game on Linux via Proton, so I wouldn’t expect it to suddenly stop working any time soon.
Lutris on NixOS! It runs fairly well, though sometimes Steam doesn’t start up at all. No crashes mid-game so far.
I’m running it on Bazzite, and it mostly runs great.
I’ve been dealing with a bug that has apparently been around since the beta, but it’s not Linux-specific. Sometimes, the game crashes due to a corrupted file. Verifying the install from Steam fixes the issue, but it seems to pop up randomly. I’ve had days without issues, and days where it happens 2-3 raids in a row.
