The Epic Games Store has seen a strong increase in user numbers over the past six years, reaching an impressive total of 295 million users. However, third-party revenue has not grown at the same pace. In fact, it has barely moved — up only 1.6%, reaching $255 million in 2024. I view it as a backup in case I ever get banned or locked out of my account from Steam or Steam has a major outage. At least I have Epic as a backup. It costs me nothing except opening it once every week and adding it to my library.
I wouldn’t be that upset if anything happened to my Epic account though. I have zero attachment to them.
