Ever looked for the exit to your nearest highway? Its from the latest NotJustBikes about the newest MRT in Toronto. It really is bizarre. Like it was almost intentionally bad just to make an example. Threw a bunch of money and stupid regulations to be able to point to and never have to deal with public transport ever again.

I grew up in that city, this project deserves every bit of criticism, but as Jason points out some of it is fixable, some of it is not without fundamentally overhauling the design. I think enough can be done to at least make it bearable, but they really need to address that 25km/h through intersections thing, especially in the hwy 400 segment.
What does “highway” mean in the context of this place? Are there other doors out of the building? What is the building?
What is there on the highway? Is that where the buses stop and this is some kind of a shelter? Or is it assumed that people will fetch their friends from the building by stopping at the side of what is called highway here?
Look up “Humbert College LRT Station” on Google Maps, and you can see it for yourself. Unfortunately, the Street View imagery is out-of-date, and shows the station under construction, but the aerial view shows that this door opens onto literally just a 4- or 7-lane highway/stroad a few meters away. No bus stops, and no passenger loading zones. There’s at least a sidewalk.
I don’t know either. :( It would be signs job to answer those questions I believe.
If you watch your video, it shows this being the back / side door to the building, which is on the outskirts of a college campus. (He walks up to it through a more pedestrian oriented concourse.
There was a kind of similar bus stop where I went to colege I used to use all the time; my cousins lived an hour north, and could pick up/ drop me off there without having detour through the colege town traffic (ten min bus ride saved them 25 mins in no traffic, 45+ on a weekend)
The road also doesnt really look like a highway, just a regular 2 lane (each way) road… you appear to be able to stop on the side to pick people up, and trafic looks like its under 50kph
The pedestrian sign makes sense to me for an exit, marking it as there being no other dedicated transit that way. (Not that they actually expect you to walk the ‘highway’ Prety common in airports train stations etc, (as opposed to a car symbol would imply that it was a cab stand/ rideshare area, or bus if there was a bus station, etc )
