Understandable, they’re neither animals nor plants, and at least to me, that’s really weird. Pretty much everything large enough to see fits into those categories, and it just feels like fungi should be plants as well.

Fun fact, it’s very likely that without mushrooms land animals wouldn’t exist. More controversially it’s possible that without mushrooms no creatures with higher order thinking like human variants could exist.
