minus-squareA_norny_mousse@piefed.ziplinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up6·2 days agoI know 8yo phones that still receive updates. I wonder how the Trump phone will handle this. Not at all, I suspect.
minus-squareyeehaw@lemmy.calinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up9arrow-down1·2 days agoIts not about that, its about this “new trump phone” being some old phone being sold as new
minus-squareA_norny_mousse@piefed.ziplinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·2 days agoGSMArena lists it as being available on the market. The T1 is not exactly this device; from the article I get the impression it’s built from the same plans, but in a different factory. It’s fairly common for any smaller batches produced mobile devices to be a bit slow to develop & hit the market. It’s still a grift and a rip-off, but the phone having been on the market for just under 2 years is not the worst part.
minus-squareJohnmannesca@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up3·2 days agoYeah, the worst part (so far) is probably the lack of data security after leaking the customers’ names and addresses. Who else saw this coming?
minus-squareA_norny_mousse@piefed.ziplinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·2 days agoNot those who put their names there, that’s for sure.
minus-squareTheFunkyMonk@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·2 days agoIt won’t, and the people buying this thing won’t know any better.
minus-squared5273@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up3·2 days agoI’m going back to an old LG phone after my current phone dies. There really has not been much real progress in hardware or software, more like loss of features and controls with new updates these days.
