People Twitter@sh.itjust.works•It's swimming, I would've thought the drugs would help
60·1 month agoLet’s not forget the fact that ones who actually used drugs will be banned from any other competitions for many months or even years.
So, these other athletes are likely not in the “top tier”. It would be good to hear opinion from someone experienced to tell if it’s true.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•Lemmy experience is very weird to a person who used to enjoy Reddit beforeEnglish
1·3 months ago“Lemmy” is not a place, it’s a piece of software. That’s all.
And, if you ask me, this kind of generalizations is pretty stupid.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•I've never been in a situation where me having a gun would have made things bettter.
1·6 months agoLet’s imagine that the weapons are extremely hard to get, and people can’t afford even legal ones (because of checks and prices), not to say about illegal. Wouldn’t your place be better one if that was so?

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Doom 2016 forces you to accept 4 agreements before playing.English
24·6 months agoThey are still making one of the most exceptional games at the market. Not independent - yes. But if it’s the price to actually deliver games this quality - sign me up.
So… To the OP - agree the agreement and just play. It didn’t make the game worse.
I think there’s several criteria:
- power of a vape pod
- temperature isolation of a window
- temperature difference between two sides of a window
- humidity in a closed space
- proper ventilation
So… In a car - yes, absolutely. Especially when it’s winter. But it’s also true that I’m working from home, spending most of the day near PC, vaping all this time right in front of the window - and I never had any haze on it in a 4 years. So I really agree that hotels shouldn’t handle it the same way as regular in-door smoking
Maybe in a cold environment, in a room with a bad ventilation, and if dude have a BIG vaping engine instead of a regular vape stick - maybe then he really can leave a trace in just one day. And even if so, it can be easily/quickly washed away with right tools

Selfhosted@lemmy.world•Selfhosted alternatives to Discord with screensharing?English
5·7 months agoI’m using TeamSpeak. It is very good and feature rich, but it’s important to note that video / screen sharing works only P2P in a moment, so no server processing. It’s probably ok if you don’t have more than 3 people in a party, but still worth noting.
I also tried Matrix + Element + Jitsi. Can’t recommend.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•Might not be efficient, but at least it... Uhhh, wait, what good does it provide again?
59·7 months agoYou need a nuclear power plant not for a single AI, but for several million instances of it.
Don’t forget that you can run full OSS ChatGPT on a single Mac Mini.
AI is sick, and only silly people can deny that. Yes, future is little scary, but scary things should not stop us from progress.
Yes, we do have a lot of AI slop, but don’t forget that AI can be an exceptionally good tool in right hands, and its spheres of usage grow every month. I can’t wait for generative tools for gauss splattering things, for example - because it can lead games developing process on another level.

In my opinion, it’s much more alive than it was back then reddit killed third party applications
It’s enough for me, I guess.

Ah, you should see buses in my city. Dirty, thirty years old, overpopulated graves on wheels with no air conditioners.
Never again.

If served right, vodka should taste like almost tasteless cold liquid with just a little bitterness in it. Refreshing drink, if you ask me. It also a great appetitive for some dishes.
