I understand that learning left from right is a skill to learn. However, it was rare for a teenager to be unable to distinguish their left from right, unlike today.

It’s an easy way to introduce fractions, especially since it’s common to hear/say it’s a quarter passed 2, half passed 5, and a quarter to 9.
Also teaches multiples, since the numbers on the clock represent multiples of 5.
Helps with directions, clockwise is when the hands spin to the right and counter-clockwise to the left. You’d be amazed how many students can’t tell their left from right.
I wish it happened around W’s terms when the tea party formed to pull votes from Republicans. The Tea Party jumped back into the GOP and shoved them hard right and whatever left wing party could have pushed the democrats left.
In the movie, none of them died. Wonka verifies it at his office door when he picks up the mail. Charlie asks about the other kids and Wonka says they’ve been turned back into their terrible nasty selves, but are hopefully wiser for the wear. Wonka then points Charlie and Grandpa Joe to the exit and apologies for not showing them out because he’d already wasted the entire day.

Yeah, there was too much infighting and incompetence for him to do as much damage in the first term. His cabinet was dropping like flies the first term and we’re almost 8 months in and nobody’s been fired yet

*2016 was the last normal year.
Let’s not forget the chaos and societal upset during the first term.
Edit: I guess it would actually 2015 as the last normal year. 2016 started with Harambe and ended with the far-right winning an election and a Nazi parade honoring trumps election.

It wasn’t meant as a slight to you. It was more a comment on how they worded the law.
Kind of like how the news will turn trumps ramblings into coherent thoughts. We shouldn’t modify the language of poorly written laws to make sense of them. That hurts the people governed by them.

Don’t put words in the mouth of the law. We have something similar in TX. If you are a government employee you have to agree not to “boycott Israel”. It doesn’t say boycott Israeli products or companies. It says “boycott Israel” itself, so you just can’t say that you’ll never travel there.

How does it make sense? Calendars aren’t set up by date number, they are set up by month. You need to know which month you’re talking about to get to the right date.

Probably stems from the Red Scare when people were rounded up and jailed/fired/blacklisted/exiled. It became the boogeyman. Through the last couple generations the fear around the word is still there, mostly because we haven’t heard positive things (let alone the truth) about socialist policies in the better part of a century.

If you haven’t been, Alamo Drafthouse has an actual pre-show before the movie time. They will show clips related to the movie that you’ll see or clips from older versions of the movie you’ll see. Also old game/toy commercials like a time capsule and sometimes they’ll just show some funny Japanese game show moments.
It’s one of the reasons I like going there, you aren’t inundated with ads and kind of get into the mindset for the movie before watching it.
They look at one verse, 2 Timothey 3:16 “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,”
and apply that to the entire Bible, including the letters written to different sects in different cities/regions clarifying rules to keep them from breaking apart. Kinda like from Ghost, they imagine god reaching down and writing through people I guess.

They need to be taught that anything they use their school email address to log in to or anything on their school laptop can be seen by others. That’s the important lesson missing here.
They also need to be taught how to log out of their school accounts and use a personal account while on a personal device and not doing homework.
This can really hurt students who consider or are unaware of privacy risks while on the internet or on a school device.

It is, they didn’t even get the lyrics right. Makes you immune to playing the song in your head lol

That’s true, international tourism is down across the country, not just domestic tourism.

I imagine there’s a lot less tourists since ICE started showing up in big numbers in LA. The presence of a large oppressice force also makes some question whether they want to go out or not, especially those close to the people who have been kidnapped.
The genie just made 1 US Dollar equal to 1 Australian dollar. One problem solved, another created.
Sorry about that, guess I’m just blind. I’m viewing on mobile and all the smaller lines look Grey and didn’t see the yellow line until the brightness was cranked up.
The red isn’t peak high for all years. According to the legend in the upper left, the red line is the high temperature for those days in 2025. The other lines peaking up around it are past years.
I’d always thought it was a rite of passage, just like in the show. In the show, Ash got Pikachu because he woke up late and all the other kids that were starting their journeys took all of the other starter pokemon. If I recall correctly it was at age 10 that kids start their pokemon journey.
In the game, the only 2 kids in Pallet Town started their pokemon journey at the same time. I always thought the games followed the show like that. I always thought it strange that your only competition with your rival was battles and not number of pokemon seen/caught in the pokedex.
