I’m surprised to see Xenogears sitting smack in the middle of all that. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the game, but I’ve never met another person offline who had heard of it. I have tried many, many times to beat many different turn based RPGs. I just simply can’t, I get bored. They’re just menu simulators to me. But Xenogears was the sole exception to that rule in my life thanks to it making you perform combos for your moves. I ripped its music and used it on HTML webpages as a kid. I still have and frequently use my OG beta gmail account, which includes the first name of the main character, Fei.

I got Monster Hunter: Wilds finally, but surprisingly, I have not dropped a lot of time into it despite playing the franchise since the first, with usually 100-250 hours spent on any given title I purchased in the series. TBF, my PS5 controller is in a terrible state right now, forcing me to use K&M, which is genuinely surprising to me that they added support for it in the PS5 to begin with. As far as I know, that is very rare. And while I’m no stranger to K&M, I’ve never used it for Monster Hunter and I just don’t dig it much.

I’d actually have to give my personal GOTY to a game that’s not at all new. I’ve eyed Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous for some time, even though I don’t think I’ve played a traditional CRPG since Planescape: Torment (granted not in 1999, I bought it thru GOG, so it had to be sometime after 2008.) And despite it being a CRPG and me knowing that, I played it via Playstation+ on PS5… with my controller, which still had stick drift at the time but not as bad. I sunk between 200-250 hours into it and I still have not beat the damn thing. I kept remaking my party as I grew more familiar with the game’s system. My last and favorite being subclassing all my regulars to have dinosaur pets. Game went on sale for like 6 or 7 bucks a little while ago so I just went ahead and bought it permanently. I’m sure I’ll revisit it again just like I do Elder Scrolls and Borderlands franchises.

I am happy to see 40K finally get the Total War treatment, but fuck man, no way is my PC gonna run that and I am not in a position to be getting a new one. Future goals I guess.

As much as I enjoyed Wrath of the Righteous, I give zero fucks when being foced to play a damn human. Sure, my companions could be something else, but I must still be a human, and I’m just not about that. “Lookit all this fantastical fantasy stuff! But here, play with the basic human.” Fuck off. No. No thanks. Wish GW would push their other shit more.

Well, the cool thing about life is that despite humans making up stories that declare themselves the pinnacle of it, when every human is wiped out, life won’t care and will flourish without them mucking up the works.

There’s enough fish in the sea that there’s probably a guy out there’ll that’ll be a fit if you try hard enough to look, but if I were a bettin man I’d wager they are considerably few in number. How you act during sex also matters, whether a false act or not. Basically, I doubt many men would be fine with a “dead fish.”

Monster Hunter: Wilds is on sale right now on the Playstation store. 30% off. I’ve been a fan of the series since the first, back on PS2, and have bought many titles in the franchise. While I pretty much couldn’t care less about the story (which mainline MH has never been known for, anyways,) in every other sense, the game has been delivering for me. It’s been a really depressing few weeks. I bought the game last Sunday and it’s been one of the few things that has gotten me to smile.

I’d live, but it’d suck even more.

At some point years ago, I moved off Chrome and switched to Edge. I don’t remember why. I think it was because ublock would no longer work with Chrome. Or maybe it was Firefox I was on, and Chrome was throttling Youtube when accessed through Firefox, so I started using Edge and just swapped. Or maybe both. I don’t really recall. But Edge works perfectly fine for what I need it to do. With how heavy Google has tilted into advertising, data tracking, and enshitifying themselves, I low-key resent them and just won’t use Chrome unless I have to. Firefox with ublock for phone, Edge with ublock for PC.

Huh. I had previously joked about UAE buying up Ubi, but it’s Tencent. Huh. Bet they’ll put out a bigger China themed AC than whatever that China episode is on the market (haven’t played it, know nothing about it, never got into AC.)

Looked this up. Can’t believe Record of Lodoss War got a game in 2021. I remember watching the 1990 anime on Toonami’s online-only list of anime at the time, along with Harlock Saga. Both old school AF.

I have a list of Metroidvanias I’ve started but never completed. The only one that managed to hold my attention to completion that wasn’t an actual Metroid title was Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. Which is a shame, because Ori and The Blind Forest is beautiful and Hollowknight is very cute, but neither could really hold my attention.
