I don’t want to do product placement, but for people that do wish to shave their balls the OneBlade is really good and I only nicked the sack like 5% of the time as I get over confident.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What habit do you possess that seems very normal to you, but would seem odd to anyone else?
14·10 days agoI’ve never heard someone call it the “blossom end”, I’ve always known it to be called the Bananus (banana anus). I think monkeys typically open it on the same end rather than from the stem.
The kiwi skin on is actually very fibrous, I know someone that was constipated during pregnancy and the only thing that would clear them out was kiwis with skin on!

Programming@programming.dev•Claude Code's creator is sick of the phrase 'vibe coding.' Suggest your alternative here.
37·11 days agoI recall someone at some point calling it cuckoding, that gave me a chuckle.
“Marginally profitable.” Profit is profit, and their end goal of giving people a library to drive sales has worked.
Competition is good, for end consumers, but not a chance I’m going to be using EGS. They had no interest in making things better for consumers, especially with trying to create exclusivity in PC gaming.

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•When you actually pay attention to the lyrics of the song you're listening:
8·2 months agoMr Brightside. I remember hearing the song when I was at uni, first thinking it was a real banger and in a drunken haze in a club started to actually listen to the lyrics and felt an uncomfortable connection, realising it was from the perspective of someone being cheated on and I’d gone through something similar at the time.
I think there is some value in accepting there are things out of our control and there is no benefit in dwelling on those things. Of course we can’t apply it to everything.
Windows can add some complications as a dev, especially in the corporate environment when really strict group policies are implemented that stop Devs from installing or configuring systems as they need.
One company I worked at remained on Windows LTSC for security reasons, and a lot of Devs that were working with Java hit a snag if for whatever reason an IDE they were using really wanted a system environment variable configured a certain way and it would straight up ignore user environment variables. They would be restricted from basically being able to configure anything without getting IT to remote on and make the changes for them.
I was forced to use a Mac for the first time years ago for work, I still hate working on a Mac but I can’t deny how much more flexible it can be compared to working in a Windows environment that is locked down.
Yeah fair enough, you’re right, I should have been specific in saying Windows and MacOS.
I believe the point still remains that intolerances exist on Lemmy.
I agree Windows sucks, just pointing out an intolerance! I think no matter what social we go on it will eventually become an echo chamber and people will be intolerant as their hatred grows.
Another example is AI. Lemmy is intolerant of AI outside of AI specific communities, but go to LinkedIn and you have people circlejerking over how great their vibe coding is.
Back when Reddit made it’s API change and I moved to Lemmy, it felt like people were still getting a feeling of things, there would be more discussion on subjects. As time is going on I’m seeing discussion around subject diminish. I guess it could have been because there was less posts? Or could it be as time has gone on people have become less tolerant of things Lemmy generally doesn’t like?
It’s definitely intolerant of any OS that is non-linux

Games@lemmy.world•Slay the Spire 2 passes 574K concurrent players, making it the biggest Steam launch of 2026 so farEnglish
22·2 months agoEnjoying it very much. For a game that isn’t even complete it is so solid on the gameplay. Feels different enough from the first game, but also the same.
Not sure if it will become my favourite deck builder over Monster Train 2, but it’s still a fantastic early access game.
“Almost 20 years after the end of the original series, Malcolm now lives a happy life with his daughter Leah and girlfriend Tristan, having distanced himself from his birth family. He is forced to bring them into the family’s chaos when his parents Hal and Lois demand his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary party.” source

2·3 months agoStS came out in early access and was a solid game with quite a lot of placeholders. I suspect StS2 will be a much more polished experience compared to that, and Megacrit has the track record of the first title to give confidence.

Patient Gamers@sh.itjust.works•I'm glad i grabbed this wii fit balance board from the trash a decade ago, wow!
3·3 months agoI don’t know if it’s still good, but when I had my headset I loved Synth Riders. At times I felt like I was really dancing. Some of the “experiences” were great too, there was a Muse one that was really well done!
I’m sure someone more experienced will say this is awful, but I found this video to be pretty handy to watch.
Hope it helps!

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What advice or tips do you have which sound like nonsense but really work?
2·3 months agoMay have to try this next time! Normally I gulp lots of air until I can’t anymore, then hold my breath until I can’t, and breath out really slowly. It works but can be uncomfortable to do at times.
